UK MOD issues TAA certification

Skyranger, the next-generation sUAS from Aeryon Labs has been tested and assessed as ‘Safe to Operate’ by the Type Airworthiness Authority (TAA) based on additional Verification and Validation (V&V) processes laid out by the UK MOD to identify the suitability of Unmanned Air Systems (UAS) for military use. The aim is provide assurance to the Ministry of Defence (MOD) that Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Military-Off-the-Shelf (MOTS) systems meet the specifications stipulated by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).
The TAA commented;
“In accordance with the “Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) Mini Unmanned Aircraft Systems (MUAS) Type Airworthiness Authority (TAA) Endorsed Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) List,” the Skyranger R60 UAS is now considered a COTS MUAS platform that the TAA has approved for military use having been tested and assessed as ‘safe to operate’ by the TAA”
