MCL Recognised for Excellence at 2025 Cohort Group Awards
30 January 2026

Members of MCL's engineering and finance team were recognised at the 2025 Cohort Group Business Excellence Awards this month, celebrating outstanding contributions across the Group's defence technology businesses.
The awards ceremony, hosted at the Institution of Engineering and Technology in London, brought together talent from across Cohort plc's portfolio of companies to recognise achievements in early careers development, individual excellence, and collaborative team working.
MCL's Award Recognition
MCL received two awards at this year's ceremony:
An Early Career Bronze Award recognised our Financial Controller for exceptional contribution during the early stages of their career pathway. This achievement reflects MCL's commitment to developing the next generation of talent across all areas of our business, from finance and operations through to engineering and technical delivery.
A Team Silver Award was presented to members of our Engineering Team, who worked in close collaboration with colleagues from fellow Cohort subsidiary MASS to deliver an important joint programme. The award acknowledges the team's technical expertise, practical problem-solving approach, and ability to work effectively across business boundaries to achieve shared objectives.
Recognising Excellence Across the Cohort Group
The Business Excellence Awards align with Cohort Group's core values of being expert, responsible, practical and dynamic – principles that guide our approach to delivering innovative solutions for the UK Ministry of Defence, Armed Forces and emergency services.
This year saw a significant increase in nominations across all categories, demonstrating the depth of talent and commitment throughout all our businesses. MCL extends congratulations to our sister companies across the Cohort Group on their achievements at this year's awards.
Looking Ahead
These awards reflect the dedication of our entire team at MCL. From mechanical and electronic design through to systems integration and field support, our people consistently demonstrate the technical capability and collaborative spirit required to solve complex defence challenges.
As we continue to expand our capabilities, recognising and developing our talent remains central to delivering excellence for our customers.
